What’s the role?

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary remote primary health care team, that manage client care throughout their lifespan, treat unique chronic illness, promote wellbeing, provide education & training, and encourage community health action to contribute to better health outcomes.

What do you need to apply?

  • Specialist General Practitioner registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellow of RACGP or ACCRM
  • Broad-based primary care experience in a rural/remote setting, ideally in Indigenous health.
  • Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health: cultural issues; cultural safety and determinants issues
  • Willingness to travel by 4WD and/or light aircraft to other communities, including overnight stays as required
What’s it like living in Warruwi?

Warruwi is the main Aboriginal settlement on South Goulburn Island and is home to around 500 residents.

The community has a school, health clinic, creche, convenience store, arts centre and airport and is s urrounded by a stunning mix of natural landscapes, pristine beaches, rocky outcrops and sweeping marshlands, home to an abundance of crocodiles, fish, dugongs, turtles, oysters, crayfish, mud crabs and stingrays.
