Ability Action Australia is a national organisation with a multi-disciplinary team of allied health practitioners, who provide services within the local community to NDIS particpants.

We would welcome an early career or experienced Occupational Therapist who is keen to learn the NDIS landscape and have flexibility in their day-to-day by managing their own booking schedule.

Reporting to the Team Leader your responsibilities will include:

• Managing an allocated caseload and completing therapeutic services in a timely manner
• Assessing participants emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical level of function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
• Interpreting findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
• Providingtherapeutic interventions that are evidence-based and help participants get more out of life
• Providingsupport and advice on adaptations to the environment including home, school, work and residential facilities
• Recommending provision of Assistive Technology to assist participants with their functional limitations and to promote independence
• Maintaining awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance

What you will need:

• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
• Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
• Looking for a fun, collaborative and supportive work environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• A genuine passion for working in the disability sector
