Nurses/Midwives

This 75-bed hospital serves the tribal people of the region. It has good operating rooms and is supported by a laboratory pharmacy x-ray and ultrasound facilities physiotherapy and mother/child healthcare departments.

Trained and registered nurses and midwives who are interested in working with tribal people in a remote but well-populated region are being sought. The majority of our nurses are competent practical nurses trained in the hospital and the nurse/midwife would supervise and further train these nurses. Ob-Gyn nurses are especially needed. Short-term nurses are needed for introducing barrier nursing in the baby nursery and should be willing to work alongside local nurses.

Experienced registered nurses both male and female are needed in all areas of specialization. If a nurse is highly specialized and used to working with advanced technology s/he may get frustrated here. Because of cultural sensitivities midwives should be female. Candidates should be prepared to commit long term since language study for a period of about twelve to eighteen months is a requirement. Supervisory and teaching experience is appreciated but not required.

Interserve is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children.
