Pediatrician - General (Locum)

Saskatchewan Health Authority – Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics and Metabolics is seeking applications for a part-time General Pediatric specialist to provide Clinical Associate services for up to a one year locum term. This position may be shared with up to two General Pediatricians.The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to providing exemplary health care for children, ensuring excellence in training of future pediatrics health care providers, undertaking meritorious research and advocating for the health and well-being of children and youth.Working closely with the consultation of Metabolic Geneticists, the General Pediatrician will aid in the care of pediatric inpatients and outpatients with confirmed or suspected inborn errors of metabolism. Responsibilities will include assisting with inpatient consultations, acting as a liaison for admitted Metabolic patients, outpatient management, outpatient consultations and helping to coordinate the care of patients and families. The General Pediatrician will be an integral part of a team which includes Medical Geneticists, Metabolic Physicians, Family Physician, nurse clinical coordinators, genetic counsellors, dieticians, and administrative assistants.This is an independent contractor position therefore benefits are the responsibility of the physician.Additional InformationUniversity of Saskatchewan - The beautiful University of Saskatchewan campus is located on the shores of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, a city with a diverse and thriving economic base and a vibrant cultural life.
