The Finance Management at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Asset Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Assets Manager, the Asset Accountant will assist the Assets Manager deliver the Health Technology Equipment Replacement program and all associated asset accounting processes for Mackay Hospital and Health Service.

The role will support the provision of timely and quality information, expert financial compliance and accounting advice, reviews and planning in relation to MHHS fixed assets including:

  • Provide technical advice on the interpretation and implementation of Accounting and Government Standards in relation to assets.
  • Play a key role in the provision of statutory reporting in relation to assets and key liaison for external and internal audit in relation to the asset accounts.
  • High quality technical analysis and support to the management team including financial implications of proposals and initiatives concerning investment in assets.

About the Team

Finance Management consists of Financial Accounting, including Revenue, Assets and Management Accounting. The team provides routine and ad-hoc information, analysis and advice for various stakeholders such as the Executive, Service Directors, Business Managers and Clinicians.
