About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to women with Gynaecological Cancers and works to develop the Townsville University Hospital Service in collaboration with the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer.

The Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer exists to provide an exemplary service in the fields of gynaecological cancer management and research. It is the aim of the Centre to meet at all times, the needs of our patients, referring practitioners and the community, whilst simultaneously maintaining the highest possible ethical and clinical standards.

The role ensures that all referrals to the Gynaeoncology services are triaged and actioned and that surgery is categorised and booked within clinically acceptable time frames.

The position is critical part of the Women's and Children's Clinic (WCC) multidisciplinary team.

Role requirements

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Appointees may be required to work an afternoon shift/ later start to attend MDT.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. 

Highly Desirable
Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
