The Opportunity
The Cancer Care Coordinator will facilitate the continuity and quality of care for patients diagnosed with cancer. The role will vary according to the tumour type (or types) and the complexity of care required based on the needs of individual patients under their care. While working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the CN Cancer Care Coordinator will act as a clinical expert, professional role model and change agent to promote practice development and quality initiatives that promote the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care in Cancer Nursing.
Townsville Cancer Centre
Townsville Cancer Centre (TCC) at the Townsville University Hospital is the tertiary referral unit for Oncology services for North Queensland. Oncology specialities include Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Haematology, and Palliative Care. The Cancer Centre also has a 23 bed Oncology ward with a bone marrow transplant unit and a Chemotherapy Day Unit with an Apheresis Unit.
