About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate advanced level of leadership, knowledge, clinical expertise and skill in the theory and practice of rural generalist Occupational Therapy across multi-speciality clinical areas, including demonstrated ability to integrate current professional development and evidence-based practice principles into clinical management.
  • Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to interact effectively with and provide expert clinical advice to patients/clients and their families, multidisciplinary team members, stakeholders and professional/operational supervisors regarding client outcomes, service delivery and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clinical and professional skills in other clinicians.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will provide advanced level of clinical expertise and leadership in Occupational Therapy and contribute to the professional development of Occupational Therapy colleagues regarding the assessment and management of patients across the rural Hospital and Health Service.

About your role:

  • Involvement in service provision to patients as part of the Occupational Therapy Department public holiday and weekend service, and out of hours roster as operationally required.
  • Deliver advanced level rural clinical and consultancy services across the broad spectrum of presentations to hospital wards, emergency departments and Occupational Therapy outpatient services.
  • Deliver advanced level clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary Allied Health Service, providing clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors and developing streamlined and efficient service models that support the continuous improvement of local service delivery.
  • Apply cultural competence working with clients from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
