You will be part of a diverse team delivering highest quality microbiological services to internal and external clients.

This is a permanent part time position, with contracted 45.6 hours, however there may be opportunity for the incumbent to take additional shifts across a working roster.

Whilst the laboratory does not currently have a 24 hour, 7 day roster, this will be implemented soon.  As such, the selected candidate should expect to work a continuous shift roster, in that working day, afternoon, and overnight shifts plus public holidays, will be required.  Overtime may also be required.

Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who has:

• Demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge of contemporary Microbiology scientific principles, analyses and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a Microbiology service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
• Ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline.
• Proven ability to positively contribute to a team.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.

Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements

• The successful applicant must hold at least a relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science.
