The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Speech Pathologist – Senior (Radiation Oncology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Contribute to the advancement of quality speech pathology services and optimal patient care through provision of clinical leadership
- Undertake high level speech pathology duties, of a complex and varied nature, with a high degree of independence and with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision
- Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence
- Identify, develop, and implement evidence-based clinical practices, procedures, protocols, and education materials, to improve the delivery of speech pathology services
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution
- Blue Card (GCH will cover cost)
- Drivers Licence
- Whilst not mandatory, Speech Pathology Australia membership is highly desirable
- Availability to participate in weekend/public holiday rosters
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (12 months, with possibility of extension, 30.4 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $62.75 - $67.53 per hour

The Gold Coast Health Speech Pathology service has close links with Griffith University and other universities, with various opportunities for staff to deliver clinical specialist lectures, assist with student training and to participate in clinical research which is embedded in service delivery.
