Professional and personal qualities TCHHS are looking for;

  • Sound understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, and knowledge of local and community health issues particularly with regards to mental health, substance misuse and social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Knowledge or experience in community services or health related services.
  • Experience in working with individuals and groups in a community setting.

Requirements for the role:

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • The successful applicant will be required to travel on a weekly basis to Indigenous communities within the Torres and Cape Region.
