Job overview

This full-time post is aimed at junior surgical Specialty Trainees (or overseas equivalent) and is for a minimum period of 6 months extendable to 12 months.

This post will provide both specialist Oesophago-Gastric resectional surgery training (with an emphasis on laparoscopic surgery) and General Surgical Training.

Main duties of the job

1. On-call for general surgery at a 1:12 duty. When on-call the Fellow is expected to be contactable at all times. When on-call at night the Fellow is not expected to be resident but must be available to attend within 15 minutes.

2. A commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental education for 2 hours per week.

3. Support the elective clinical activities of the Oesophago-gastric Surgical Unit

4. To undertake a research or audit project
