Job Title: Speech Pathologist - St George
Practice Information:
This practice is a modern multi-disciplinary allied health practice dedicated to providing a holistic, person-centred approach to therapy for rural and remote communities. As a team, their mission is to improve rural, remote, and Indigenous access to health services. We believe that all Australians should have access to high-quality health services, no matter where they live.
They have continued to expand in response to a growing need within our communities for high-quality local health services and now have nine centres servicing regions across Queensland and New South Wales. Currently, the team consists of 60+ professionals who find living and working in rural parts of our country extremely rewarding, both on a personal and professional level.
Position Description:

  • Have an extremely varied caseload and get a rich clinical experience

  • Work in in-clinic and in-community settings, such as GP Practices, Aboriginal Health Centres, Kindy or School environments and more!

  • Be supported by Senior Clinical Team Members and a well-appointed Administration Team.

  • Assess and design holistic, person-centred intervention services and therapy plans (including - speech, language, paediatrics, voice fluency, literacy, feeding, adult - dysphagia based).

  • As well as working with adults across the lifespan, you also have the opportunity to work under unique 'Vital Paediatrics' program in a multidisciplinary setting with an Occupational Therapist & Physiotherapist.

  • With lots of support and training, provide services under the NDIS – including assessment and management of AAC

  • Engage in regular supervision and clinical support from a Senior Speech Pathologist and internal PD with the SP and OT teams.

  • Work alongside other allied health professionals in the team, including: Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologist, Allied Health Assistants and Psychologist.

  • Travel, on a regular roster, to smaller towns to provide services.

Qualifications & Experience:
As the successful applicant, you will bring a passion for improving rural, remote, and Indigenous access to health services.

  • Membership to SPA

  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within different service delivery models and across different locations

  • Passion for delivering evidence-based treatment

  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • National Police Check

  • Blue Card and NDIS worker screening clearance
