The role

Temporary full time role up to 12 months (with the possibility of extension).

The Mount Isa Hospital Pharmacy Department provides medicines management services for patients in the North West Hospital and Health Service, including facilities located off-site.  A core function of the pharmacy department focuses on promoting the Quality Use of Medicine principles and safe medication practices.

This role will be responsible for practice and service development, innovation and activities that improve clinical management in outreach services and the capability of the multidisciplinary Pharmacy team to provide competent and safe care that meets or exceeds professional practice standards within the specialty of Pharmacy for the NWHHS.

Travel: This position will require the applicant to travel to remote sites within the North West Hospital and Health Service by both car and air travel. It will involve overnight accommodation for up to 4 nights per week away from Mount Isa Hospital for up to 3 weeks per month.

Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. C class motor vehicle licence. Pre-employment screening, including criminal history checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance, will be conducted for the successful candidate. VPD risk roles may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis, and COVID-19.
