The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Physiotherapist - Senior (Emergency) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Deliver high level physiotherapy clinical services as part of a multi-professional team, to patients of the Emergency Department
  • Undertake high level physiotherapy duties within the Emergency Department exercising independent professional judgement in managing a complex clinical caseload
  • Actively participate in the systematic pursuit and practical application of valid and reliable evidence to support clinical practice
  • Actively pursue further relevant professional development and contribute to the development and delivery of clinical education
  • Act as a resource person in physiotherapy relevant to emergency services providing high level clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Tertiary degree in Physiotherapy
  • AHPRA Registration
  • While not mandatory, postgraduate studies/qualifications in musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy, vestibular physiotherapy skills and experience working in an Emergency Department would be well regarded
  • Availability to work across a 7-day service with extended hours and on-call as requested
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent part time (60.8 hours per fortnight)
  • Base salary ranging from $62.75 - $67.53 per hour
