About your opportunity

Permanent full-time role, 76 hours p.f.

The Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service is (MPHS) is a small rural hospital with 15 beds, an oral health clinic and community health services. Up to six beds are utilised for long stay nursing home type patients.

This role is specific to providing clinical expertise, support and education to staff caring for aged care residents in an MPHS facility.

Hughenden MPHS provides an emergency service, general medical/post-surgical and paediatric inpatient care, pharmacy service, and limited antenatal and postnatal care.

The Primary Healthcare Network (PHN) deliver allied health services once per month, community health, child health and women's health services are also available as well as visiting specialists including a paediatrician, respiratory physician, optometrist, and hearing specialist. Seriously ill patients are evacuated by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), Queensland Emergency Medical Service (QEMS) or the Northern Area Obstetrics Retrieval Team.

This position will also require travel to Richmond MPHS 1 day per week to assist with the Aged Care Standards and Multipurpose requirements to maintain accreditation and requirements of the Aged Care Standards.

This will include assisting with MPHS education and training, compulsory reporting, and Aged Care Accreditation reports.

Generous remuneration package value up to $128,435 p.a. comprising:

• Salary range of $104,816 to $112,236 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 – Band 1)
• 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Aged Care / NDIS and other Pre-Employment Screening checks will be undertaken.
• A 6 month probationary period may apply.
