About your opportunity

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service, Rural Service Group are currently recruiting for six (6) casual Operational Services Officers to work from their Charters Towers Hospital, Charters Towers Rehabilitation Unit and Eventide Residential Aged Care Facilities.

This position is casual and could be based within Eventide Residential Aged Care Facility or Charters Towers Health Service or Charters Towers Rehabilitation Unit; there will be a requirement to work in the areas of Patient and Food Handling, as well as Cleaning and Linen Services.

Generous remuneration package comprising Salary range of $37.30 to $40.22 p.h. (OO2)

Requirements

  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate.  Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check:  As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • Whilst mandatory qualifications do not apply, relevant experience would be well regarded.
  • The appointee to this position will be required to carry out frequent and repetitive lifting, and manual handling of goods.  Appropriate manual handling training will be provided.
  • Please note from time to time this position may be required to travel to and work at other facilities located within the RHSG network in order to participate in quality, training or outreach services.  This may involve day and or overnight stays.  Advanced notice of this travel will be communicated the successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
  • The roster may involve day, afternoon and weekend coverage.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
