The role

The role reports to the Manager, Queensland Clinical Trials Coordination Unit. The Principal Data Analyst will undertake research and analysis to support the delivery of projects, programs and initiatives, and will support the collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of a range of qualitative and quantitative data. The role will use a range of data to inform policies, education, initiatives, and public health programs.

The successful person

The key things we are looking for in a successful candidate are:

  • Provide accurate and timely analysis to ensure that decisions and advice are based on the best possible data and information including an accurate picture of the current situation.
  • High level ability to manage projects, balancing the delivery of strategic long term and responsive short-term priorities and activities.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to proactively identify and manage risks and issues and the ability to challenge issues constructively.
  • Experience with complexities associated with strategic use of data, such as governance, security, risk, ethics, architecture, integration, data sharing, and analytics.
  • An understanding of public health and research ethics and governance and the ability to adhere to recognised standards of practice, guidelines and obligations.

Overall, the ideal candidate will exemplify a blend of technical expertise, strategic acumen, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in this multifaceted role.

About Queensland Clinical Trials Coordination Unit

The Queensland Clinical Trials Coordination Unit (QCTCU) ( https://www.clinicaltrialsqld.com/ ) is a unit within ORI. 

To make Queensland the most attractive state to conduct clinical trials, QCTCU supports business development, increased promotion and coordination of existing clinical trials and facilities, monitoring and streamlining research ethics and governance processes.
