About us:

The Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Service (BBV&SHS) is based in Rockhampton and provides, assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment as well as education and health promotion to the community's within CQHHS.

The Blood Borne Virus specialised services provide specialist medical and nursing care, treatment, support, and education for people living with Viral Hepatitis and HIV and their families. This is facilitated through an integrated model of care with other health care providers and organisations both locally and via telehealth.

About the role:

As the Blood Borne Virus & Sexual Health Clinical Nurse you are accountable at an advanced level, for the coordination of clinical practice delivered within the blood borne virus and sexual health specialty. This position provides leadership and support to nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care, while working in collaboration with the line manager of the unit.

  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, and expert planning and coordination skills in clinical management in the specific clinical environment.
  • Maintain a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with individuals, groups and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participates directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care to individuals/groups.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Proof of qualification and registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience in the provision of a safe and quality focused environment by ensuring safe work practices, reviewing clinical outcomes, developing a quality improvement plan, and applying the risk management framework.
  • Well-developed clinical knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills in a high-quality client-orientated health service delivery model.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients, and the general public.

Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, completion of or working towards post graduate qualification in sexual health, women's health, public health, or communicable diseases would be highly desirable.

  • Salary between $65.02 to $69.62 p.h. (including 23% casual loading)
