The role
Reporting to the Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE), the Executive Director will work with key stakeholders to develop innovative ways to deliver high quality patient care, for the possible outcomes to deliver value and achieve key performance deliverables for the people of Central West.
You will also:

  • Partner with the HSCE and the Executive Leadership Team in the development and execution of the financial and infrastructure management strategy for the Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS).
  • Take full accountability for all aspects of financial stewardship and engage fully in the commercial affairs of the organisation.
  • In partnership with the clinical and other senior leaders provide expert strategic direction and advice on commercial matters.
  • Act as the lead advisor to the HSCE, Executive Leadership Team and Board on financial and business matters. In this capacity provide sophisticated and insightful analysis and recommendations to progress service opportunities and manage risks to performance and sustainability.
  • Support the HSCE and Board in executing its governance responsibilities and to ensure appropriate and reliable information is provided in a timely and responsive manner relating to all significant financial matters and risks, and government and financial reporting and response requirements.
  • Key leadership role for the corporate support functions of the service, including the information and communications technology agenda for the CWHHS.

The successful person
You will have:

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent.
  • High level skills and experience in the provision of strategic financial advice aligned to business objectives including funding negotiations are highly desirable.
  • High level experience in the analysis, evaluation and reporting of financial and performance data focused on providing executive management with the management information required to facilitate and enhance business performance would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the health service delivery environment with a clinical activity costing and performance management focus would be highly regarded.
  • This position requires travel across the Central West Hospital and Health Service and/or to Brisbane as required.
  • The incumbent must be licensed to operation a C Class motor vehicle. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
