The Safety Ambassador's objective it to positively enhance the consumer experience when accessing treatment and care in the community. Your advanced communication and de-escalation skills, with a supportive, empathic and respectful approach will support the consumer and health workforce in maintaining a calm milieu.

The role is characterised by respectful, non-judgemental, trauma informed, supportive and people focused interactions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Functioning in accordance with legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act (2016), Guardianship and Administration Act (2011), Aged Care Act (1997) and Disability Act (2014) when undertaking activities as delegated to provide accountable care that is safe and relevant for individuals and groups.
  • Continually having a presence in the reception areas to monitor environmental changes and respond appropriately to provide a safe space for everyone occupying the area, whilst pro-actively engaging with consumers and staff to develop a positive safety culture.
  • Create opportunities to enhance consumer and community experience by making connections with those and, where possible, alleviating some of the stressors and anxiety through respectful interactions.

Salary between $65 497 - $68 654 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $33.03 - $34.62 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) (OO3) (permanent full time and/or part time position available, hours negotiable). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
