The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Mental Health - Young Adult and Specialist Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide a comprehensive and flexible mental health service to children, adolescents and their family/carers
  • Contribute to the clinical education of clinical students and other less experienced staff
  • Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision or professional guidance
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

About you

To be successful in this position you will require: 

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A post graduate qualification in the specialty area would be well regarded
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $104 816 - $112 236 per annum

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service Continuing Care Team works with children and adolescents aged 0-18 years experiencing severe and/or complex mental illness and their families utilising a multi-disciplinary team approach which also involves broader systems.
