The Skye and Lochalsh Integrated Health & Social Care Team has a vacancy for a Social Work Assistant Practitioner in it’s busy Portree office for a fixed term 6 month position.  The Team works closely with other disciplines such as nursing and mental health teams to provide a multi-disciplinary and integrated service for adults in a beautiful but remote and rural setting.

The Team works closely with other disciplines to provide a multi-disciplinary and integrated service for adults.  We deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive social work to ensure the best quality of life for the people we support. This post is vital to ensuring the wellbeing of the communities and people we support to lead fulfilling lives

The work would include supporting vulnerable adults and their families and carers using a person-centred approach with the support and guidance of experienced social workers.  You would be part of a Team working with other NHS professionals to provide a multi-disciplinary framework for interventions, assessments, report writing, arranging, with the client’s consent, care packages to meet assessed need. Working as part multi-disciplinary service which supports adults living within a large remote and rural geographical area with the potential challenges this can present. 

Good people skills are essential and some experience of social care would be an advantage

 You will be provided with a full Induction and training as part of your continuing career development, This is an excellent opportunity to experience working in a busy social work environment and would be ideal for someone thinking of further career progression in that area

Due to the rural nature of this post a driving licence is essential and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.

The post is to cover an employee currently on a 6 month secondment with another Team.
