We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our friendly and dynamic department of General Medicine.  NHS Grampian provides healthcare services to approximately 573,400 people living in Grampian and to 44,700 people living in Orkney and Shetland.   

The General Medical service in Grampian is a busy department covering 2 in-patient wards delivering all aspects of General Medical care for Grampian and the islands.

This post will contribute to an in-patient receiving service for General Medicine and requires the candidate to work on a rota system which includes weekends and on call commitment. This is outlined in the attached job description.

You must be innovative and keen to add to our drive of continuous improvement. The core job is available as a 5 PA post.  Jobs will be tailored to the individual’s needs and desires where possible. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and dedication to help us provide the best possible service to patients.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).    

Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.  Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.
