The role 

Reporting to the Clinical Director - Research and Evaluation, Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ), your role will provide specialised support in the expert analysis, interpretation and translation of clinical and operational data for research activities within RSQ and the state's aeromedical network.

You will also develop and participate in collaborative multi-disciplinary research activities with internal and external research groups.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Experience conducting research relevant to the evaluation and implementation of health services interventions
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in quantitative research methods, and project management.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both as a team and independently
  • A recent history of peer reviewed publishing on complex clinical practice and/or broad professional topics
  • Demonstrated experience in providing specialised research and analytic support, interpretation and translation of clinical and operational data for clinical and non-clinical staff

Highly desirable:

  • Relevant postgraduate research qualification with research experience approximately equivalent to a research masters degree or higher (or equivalent)
  • A history of success in obtaining competitive research grants
  • Demonstrated ability in qualitative research methods

Mandatory qualifications and other requirements

This is a multi-disclipinary role and the most suitable candidate must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in a recognised HP discipline (or equivalent) and, where applicable, registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority;

or

  • Proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of duties.
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment, as lited on the Role description.

About Retrieval Services Queensland

RSQ is responsible for the clinical and logistic coordination of all aeromedical retrievals and transfers of patients from parts of northern New South Wales up to the Torres Strait Islands. It plays a vital role in helping overcome the vast distances throughout the State, supporting equitable access to specialist clinical services for all Queenslanders.
