Employment Term

  • Fixed Term Temporary full-time, commencing 26/05/2024 - 25/05/2025. 

Generous remuneration package value up to $167,587 p.a.comprising: 

  • Salary rates between $5395.60 - $5630.00 p.f. (HP5)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

Role requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in pharmacy and current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • While not mandatory, possession of a postgraduate qualification in a related area would be well regarded.
  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate.  Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate. 

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Experience in management of infectious diseases is highly desirable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all level of staff.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Ability to effect practice change to improve patient outcomes.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of initiative including problem solving.
  • Advanced computer skills are highly desirable including database management, spreadsheets and word processing programs.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of programs to manage the quality use of medicines, particularly in the area of antimicrobial drugs.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of education programs.
  • Previous experience with or an advanced knowledge of hospital AMS programs.
