Gympie Mental health Service is a dynamic team working in a large geographical area, providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and case management to people with severe and complex mental health problems.  

The team has many functions including Emergency Department Mental health, Acute Care Team, Child and Youth Mental health, Older Persons Mental health, Continuing Care Team, and Cultural Healing Program.  At times this position may be required to support any number of these sub teams of Gympie Mental health if operationally required, to support the high level of care to consumers/carers being provided.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of discipline specific services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols.
  • Apply clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $131 900 p.a., comprising salary between $107 960 - $115 604 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6(1)) (full time and/or part time position available).
