To provide professional leadership for the Radiography disciplines involved in the Interventional Imaging sections of the Radiology Department these are; Angiography, Cardiology, Fluoroscopy and Operating Theatre Imaging. Professional Leadership will be provided by engaging in National Networks and leading on the implementation of change programmes as a result of evidence based trends for emerging practice in Interventional Imaging.

Full Managerial responsibility for the Interventional Imaging section of the Radiology Department. Full responsibility for organising direct delivery of highly specialised quality, comprehensive efficient and effective Interventional Imaging services for NHS Highland based at Raigmore Hospital.

Responsible for all safety matters relating to the safe operation of Radiography Equipment, in line with IR(ME)R 2000.

Full responsibility for staff training and ensuring staff competence in all aspects of Interventional Imaging to ensure safe operating limits.
Responsible for ensuring the development of department and clinical protocols and policies, support service development and work closely and collaboratively with those specialists for whom Interventional Imaging is provided.

To support the Radiology Service Manager and Radiology Head of Service in meeting operational and strategic targets, improving the quality of patient care and contributing to the continuous development of the Interventional Imaging service for the Highland area.

Maintain clinical competence by performing clinical examinations in the specialist field of Interventional Imaging (Approximately 1 day per week)
