Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Duties:

  • Diagnoses and manages oral mucosal abnormalities (growths, ulcers; infection, allergies, immune-mediated and autoimmune disorders, cancers), salivary gland disorders, temporomandibular disorders (e.g.: problems with the TMJ) and facial pain (due to musculoskeletal or neurologic conditions), taste and smell disorders; and recognition of the oral manifestations of systemic and infectious diseases.
  • Provide specialized care for the orofacial conditions and general dental care to eligible patients with complex medical conditions, in Outpatient clinics, in-patients, emergency rooms and operating rooms, based on the approved privileges. These may be done in a group or solo practice setting, providing a mix of the practice of dentistry and medicine.
  • Advises dentists about the treatment of patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Ensures the safe administration of anesthetics.
  • Provide other mode of treatment in various dental disciplines, based on the approved privileges
  • Effectively communicate with Other divisional and auxiliary Staff members
  • Provide administrative services within the department as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by the Chairman and Deputy Chairmen Of Dental Services-KAMC
  • Educational and Research
    a. Participate in research as required.
    b. Participate as Clinical and didactic instructor to different residency programs, as required.
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

PhD in or Board Certificate Oral Medicine/ Oral Pathology/Oral Radiology/Family Dentistry/ related Dental Science Courses from an accredited institution - Essential
Bachelor Degree Dental Surgery or equivalent from an accredited institution - Essential

Must have a valid registration as Specialist in SCFHS.

Work Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a recognized institution or equivalent-Preferred.

Skills

Language and Computer Skills:

English Language: Level—I — Essential.

Arabic Language: Preferred.

Computer: Level—I —Preferred.
