The role 

• Deliver high level physiotherapy clinical services including assessment and examination, treatment, physiotherapy diagnosis and prognosis, case management and discharge planning for patients with complex conditions referred to the Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Service (WMPH). The clinical caseload includes adult gynaecology/urogynaecology, Obstetric, urology and colorectal patients both male and female. Clinical services to be carried out in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
• Undertake high level physiotherapy duties within the WMPH Physiotherapy Service with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
• Contribute to the development of services within the WMPH Physiotherapy Service including clinical practices, procedures and protocols that aim to optimise patient outcomes and support the continuum of care.
• Engage in cross-discipline referencing where relevant and undertake the provision of education programs for colleagues within the physiotherapy service across the district.
• Work cooperatively and communicate effectively within the WMPH Physiotherapy Service, Physiotherapy Department, Multidisciplinary team and with patients/clients to deliver a comprehensive and coordinated treatment approach aimed at optimising patient outcomes.
• Contribute to the capacity of the physiotherapy service to ensure appropriate levels of resource allocation and service delivery across service streams by participation in relief, weekend and after hours service provision.

• Salary rates between $4769.60 - $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)

Role requirements

• Mandatory requirements are possession of a qualification in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration, or eligibility for current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
• This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

• Clinical Expertise:  
  Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise, and skills in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to assistants, students and less experience physiotherapists.

• Communication:  
  Demonstrated ability to provide clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding Pelvic Health physiotherapy clinical practice and service improvement opportunities.

• Clinical Ability: 
  Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in providing Pelvic Health physiotherapy clinical services of a complex nature with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.

• Leadership: 
  Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives and to contribute to service review and development.
