About us:

The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) is a critical service to the Rockhampton Hospital, reprocessing high volumes of reusable surgical instruments and other patient care related equipment daily.

CSD functions within a team focused environment, to maintain objectives in productivity, which contributes directly to the continuum of patient care. The CSD operates directly from the guidelines outlined in the National Standards in Reprocessing (Australia and New Zealand 4187:2014 Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices in Health Service Organisations). In addition to; the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) and the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA). The CSD is lead clinically by a team of Registered Nurses (RN's); the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Clinical Nurse (CN), qualified Enrolled Nurses (EN's) and are supported by Assistants in Nursing (AIN's).

About the role:

The Enrolled Nurse in the Central Sterilising Department provides comprehensive, evidence-based, delegated reprocessing/sterilising practices under the supervision/indirectly of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse CSD reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager of the Central Sterilising Department.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • While a Certificate III in Sterilising Services is both desirable to possess and a mandatory requirement for permanent positions; consideration will be given to applicants without this qualification, with an aim for enrolment to be completed within 12 months of employment being accepted.

Total remuneration value of up to $70,523 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $34.88 - $37.01 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
