About the Role      

• Undertake secretarial functions for the Medical & Surgical Nursing Directors and other key senior staff such as coordinating appointments, screening incoming calls and visitors, scheduling meetings, secretariat to meetings, meeting minutes, organising attendance at conferences and workshops by making the necessary arrangements (travel and accommodation), and any other administrative/secretarial support as required.
• Provide records management support by monitoring the flow of correspondence through the unit and maintaining appropriate correspondence records and files, preparing appropriate replies, and ensuring a high quality of correspondence in accordance with Departmental requirements and templates.
• Act as primary point of contact for the unit for all incoming and outgoing communication. This includes examining, prioritising, and managing the flow of communication including the preparation of memorandums/agendas and briefs as required.
• Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds, gender, identity, ages or abilities.
