Clinical Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics

Salary: £31,866 to £36,034


The successful applicant will have a broad experience of Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery that complements the subspecialty interests that currently exist within this cohesive department, and that supports NHS Highland’s commitment to improving waiting times for elective surgical care. It is our vision that this post will support and enhance the surgical services delivered across NHS Highland. 


This stimulating post has been successfully introduced to different departments at Raigmore Hospital and allows the right candidate to develop their skills within a supportive, experienced team.


Supported by a team of 19 consultants, 3 Specialty Doctors, 7 Specialty registrars, 1 FY2, 6 FY1s, 1 advanced Nurse practitioner and 1 Physician associate, you will play a pivotal role in providing excellent care to our inpatients and provide assessment of emergency admissions, when required.


There will be the opportunity to attend operating lists and clinics, in a supportive environment, dependent on individual’s preference and long-term career development wishes. At this stage this post is to cover the FY1 gap on the rota.

 

This is a one-off opportunity to develop within an extremely busy acute setting, allowing the post-holder involvement in duties which will be of personal educational value. 


Outwith the work environment, being based in the Highlands of Scotland, the great outdoors are on your doorstep and allows for tremendous opportunity to sample the best scenery and outdoor activities in the world.
