Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician with Anesthesia in the community of Red Deer. This position requires a scope of practice that includes: providing a comprehensive range of Anesthesia services for both scheduled and emergency surgeries including ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, dental and obstetrics/gynecology and pediatric patients.  Participation in on call roster is required. Coverage of both scheduled and non-scheduled obstetrics will also be required. Pre-operative consultations in pre-admission clinic would be required.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Reside in and have as their primary residence within the community of Red Deer;
  
• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
• Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Anesthesia call schedule, as required;
• Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
• Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine;
• Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
• Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care
