Our redevelopment:

  • Expanded clinical services including Orthopaedics
  • 4 new operating theatres
  • New 4 bed high dependency unit
  • New day surgery admission area
  • New onsite pharmacy and cafe.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Undertaking direct patient care, as required

Selection Criteria: 

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check 
  • 3+ years acute surgical ward experience 
  • Demonstrated experience being in-charge of shifts 
  • Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable)
  • Post-graduate degree in relevant specialty area (or working towards)
  • Sound clinical knowledge 
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards 
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Positive role modelling behaviours 
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation 
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment 
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses' and Midwives' Agreement 2021-2025" (salaries range between $52.93 - $54.71 per hour).
