The Position The Consultant Anaesthetist will deliver exceptional anaesthetic care to patients while also assuming administrative leadership responsibilities alongside fellow Anaesthetists, Senior Medical Practitioners, and Doctors in Training.
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Hold fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent.
Demonstrated expertise in Specialist Anaesthetics at a senior level.
Desirable qualifications include significant experience in rural and remote Anaesthetic provision, as well as a solid understanding of remote area health service provision.

Sitting in a unique position where the Great Dividing Range escarpment meets the Australian East Coast this subtropical city lies between the forested hills and sparkling blue waters. With a population of around 70,000 this is known to the locals as a modern city with a small-town atmosphere. The city has well developed infrastructure including great schools, lots of options for shopping, eating out and recreation.
The Facility Built in 2001 this is the major referral hospital for the region and provide a broad range of specialist services. With 292 beds, it provides the majority of specialist medical and surgical services for the Network. Services include general medicine, surgery, day surgery, planned and emergency theatre service, coronary care (including coronary angiography unit), intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, 24-hour Emergency Department, oncology, palliative care, rehabilitation, stroke, acute renal dialysis, high dependency and mental health and an extensive range of outpatient clinics. The mental health clinical stream is part of a broad range of clinical services that deliver services to mental health patients – including emergency departments and community health services.
