LJR182825 - New Graduate Nurse (Children)

NHS Grampian - More jobs by this advertiser

NHS Grampian are delighted to accept applications from passionate, motivated children’s nurses, who have recently or will be registered by Sept 2024. We welcome applications from candidates who will have completed all make up time plus any academic and practice placement resits by 1st December 2024. There will be an opportunity for those who have not completed all elements to apply later in the year at the next round of New Graduate Nurse recruitment.

Candidates can include preferences for posts in specific areas (either by entering this on application in the ‘any other information’ section or discussion at interview). Only departments with vacancies will be able to take on New Graduates. Candidates’ preference for placements will be prioritised on interview scores i.e. those scoring highest at interview are allocated posts first based on preferences and where vacancies are. As not all vacancies for October can be predicted in June we over recruit to allow for this and naturally drop out of successful candidates. Therefore some candidates will be successful at gaining a post with us but will have to wait until August/September to know exactly where that post is.

New graduates are actively encouraged to move to a second area in year two offering the opportunity to explore a breadth of experience. However, we will consider requests to remain in their initial post area.

The Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) and the Neonatal Unit (NNU) are tertiary centres providing a comprehensive range of services for new-born babies, children and young people with a wide variety of health needs. The new build Baird family hospital is due for completion in 2025 where the state of the art NNU will be situated. Our Paediatric service in Elgin supports a range of admissions from Moray.

At present we have vacancies in the following locations, but this is likely to change as the year progresses

We are keen to attract nurses who are highly motivated and passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care to our patients and their families in line with organisational values.
