The purpose of the Dental Hygienist is to provide routine dental hygiene services for Queensland Health patients within a hospital, fixed or mobile oral health clinic, or a community outreach setting. This role will have demonstrated proficiency to provide quality and safe dental hygiene services, oral health education and oral health promotion with minimal supervision.

As a member of a multidisciplinary oral health team, this role will provide guidance, peer support and instruction on dental hygiene services to less experienced dental hygienist, clinical assistants and student.

Generous remuneration package value up to $132,730 p.a. comprising:

• Salary range of $76,747 to $116,332 p.a. (full-time) (HP3)
• Salary range of $38.70 to $58.67 p.h. (part-time) (HP3)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

• Tertiary degree qualification in Dental Hygiene from a recognised institution, or an Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) qualification in Dental Hygiene with a minimum of 4 years clinical experience in dental hygiene to be eligible to apply for this position.Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• Dental hygienists undertaking specific procedures or practices that require specific training or qualifications must be approved in accordance with Policy THHSCOR140799v4.
• Possession of a current Queensland Use Licence to operate a radiation source for Dental Diagnostic Radiography intra oral (extra oral optional)
• Queensland ‘C' class driver's licence is required for this position. This position may require the incumbent to operate a government vehicle as travel to various facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service may be involved. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty].
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
