The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan, Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery seek an academic General Surgeon for Acute Care Surgery and Trauma services. Collective responsibilities include clinical care of inpatients and outpatients and education of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. The successful candidate will have appointments in both Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Saskatchewan, where teaching of surgical residents and medical students is integral. Full participation in both the acute care and trauma surgery rosters is required.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interdisciplinary competence as demonstrated by active participation in multidisciplinary rounds.

A users group is available for collaborative research with clinical faculty using the $173.5 million Canadian Light Source synchrotron, owned by USask. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training.
