About the role

The Nurse Unit Manager – Gatton Health is a Registered Nurse who is recognised as an advanced level practitioner with expertise in nursing leadership.   This role will also demonstrate expertise and leadership skills within Gatton Health which includes knowledge of contemporary nursing practice; and extensive knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.

The Nurse Unit Manager demonstrates:

  • an advanced level of autonomous professional and clinical practice;
  • an advanced level of decision making in collaboration;
  • an advanced level of operational and management expertise;
  • undertaking operational leadership;
  • working collectively to apply the principles of clinical governance; and
  • application of professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and other stakeholders.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory in rural hospital nursing and to participate directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care.  
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, strong teams within a framework of open communication and the establishment of a positive environment across the broad clinical interprofessional team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others.
  • Demonstrated contemporary management knowledge and skills specifically the ability to deliver effective human resource management and advanced financial literacy within the healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated legislation / policy knowledge and the ability to develop documents supporting the application of same.

 

Mandatory Requirements:
