Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.

Your Opportunity:

The position of CYMHS (Child and Youth Community Health Service) Clinical Consultant Occupational Therapy: 

  • Leads the strategic direction, development, professional scope and clinical activity of Occupational Therapy across CYMHS.
  • Leads the strategic direction, development, professional scope and clinical activity of smaller allied health professions within CYMHS in the absence of a dedicated profession specific professional lead roles. Within scope allied health professions include Art Therapy and Music Therapy (Creative Therapies) and Exercise Physiology
  • Provides consultant level clinical services across the spectrum of CYMHS settings with defined clinical expertise in at least one area of CYMHS practice.  It provides influence, authoritative counsel and advocacy on models of care and clinical service delivery in tertiary level paediatric facilities, across the health continuum and aligns with state and national frameworks and directions in paediatric mental health.
  • Is a leadership position focussed on quality clinical care and governance, education and service development. It requires a consultant level of knowledge and skill to provide clinical services and authoritative counsel regarding CYMHS occupational therapy to multi professional teams across CHQHHS and state-wide networks.
