2 PAs per week plus Responsibility Allowance

Current salary will apply

3 year fixed term with option for extension by mutual agreement for one year only.

 Thereafter there will be an opportunity for the incumbent to re-apply, but only in open competition with any other interested and eligible applicant

Expressions of interest are invited from existing Consultants/Specialist/Doctors & Specialty Doctors who will be working within the Division of Women & Children.  The post will be based at Raigmore Hospital.

This post will have dedicated protected time for the role as well as appropriate remuneration and defined roles and responsibilities.

The role of this post is to lead the Clinical Management Team of the Paediatric Department and you will be responsible for delivery of its overall clinical vision and for clinical quality, together with influence over financial performance.  As a member of the Senior Management Team you will contribute to and share responsibility for corporate vision, strategy, and the management and performance of the Hospital.

Applicants are expected to meet the following criteria of knowledge, training and experience required to do the job

1. Current practice as a medically qualified Consultants/Specialist/Doctors & Specialty Doctors for NHS Highland based at Raigmore Hospital and working with the Woman and Child Health Division
2. Excellent communication skills and evidence of problem solving/solution finding traits
3. Highly developed written communication skills and presentation techniques
4. An assertive but diplomatic approach to consultation and negotiation
5. A high level of interpersonal, strategic and technical skills combined with a supportive and visible leadership style
