The role 

You will coordinate and  provide advice on the planning, development and execution of workforce initiatives aimed at growing and developing the First Nations health workforce across Queensland Health. Additionally, you will offer well-researched strategic counsel to Senior Executives within the Department of Health and Hospital and Health Services regarding pertinent workforce matters. Building and nurturing robust networks with both internal and external stakeholders will be pivotal to gathering timely insights for informed decision-making and policy formulation. Your role extends to representing Queensland Health at a variety of forums to address and progress policy matters collaboratively. Moreover, you will oversee the formulation and management of strategic policies, protocols, and communication strategies within the Branch and Department, ensuring alignment with inter-agency objectives. Facilitating consultation processes with diverse stakeholders will be central to gathering essential data and insights crucial to shaping strategic policies and programs.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities honed through experience in cultivating high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical prowess in addressing diverse First Nations workforce challenges, with a track record of navigating complex issues and driving effective solutions.
  • Strong project management proficiency, including the aptitude to oversee program initiatives from development to evaluation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at crafting and delivering comprehensive reports, and skilled in collaborative engagement across multidisciplinary teams and with various stakeholders.
