The Role:
Seeking a dynamic and skilled Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar. You will be responsible for the day to day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility and provide after-hours emergency as determined by the relevant work unit. This role is tailored for ambitious and capable medical professionals who thrive on challenges, viewing them as opportunities to revolutionize healthcare within the intricate realm of modern health systems. Fixed-term full time day work (with on-call) working 80 hours per fortnight.

The surrounding countryside is celebrated for its rich produce, inviting you to purchase renowned, award-winning cheese from the factory outlet and indulge in whiskey tastings at the local cellar door. Additionally, an array of inviting restaurants encourages you to linger, while well-stocked delis tempt you with an array of gourmet delights.
 
The Hospital
As part of the state wide health service you will be located in this modern 160 bed facility providing high quality health care to the local region. The hospital also offers services in medical, surgical and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments. The hospital has a strong relationship with the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School, and the secondary care facilities are both associated teaching hospitals with contemporary teaching environments. The focal point of this role is the bustling maternity unit, catering to all inpatient maternity patients and housing the birthing suite for the entire region, with an annual average of around 1000 births, and boasts a proficient team of midwives. It has a Level 4 Neonatal Unit and an 8-bed Level 4 Intensive Care Unit.
 
The Requirements
To apply you must be:
  • Eligible to hold Limited or General Registration with AHPRA.
  • IMG’s that have been assessed by RANZCOG college & deemed partially or substantially comparable.
  • IMG's that have completed the AMC MCQ (Part 1) essential / AMC Clinical exam - desirable.
  • IMG's from a Competent Authority country (NZ, USA, Canada, UK, Ireland) or doctors seeking to complete training via the short term specialist training pathway.
To be appointed as a Senior Registrar the following additional Selection Criteria must also be met:
1. Four years of postgraduate experience.
2. Enrolled in a recognised specialty training program, successfully completed all fellowship examinations relevant to their training program and employment and be within one year of obtaining specialist fellowship.
