An opportunity to work within the West of Scotland Major Trauma Network has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner of Occupational Therapy and take on the delivery of OT to major trauma patients, repatriated from the Major Trauma Centre in Glasgow to Argyll.  

This post will be part of the Argyll wide Major Trauma Network MDT and will facilitate the handover of the rehabilitation plans for OT. The post holder should be an expert coordinator of the onward care and OT service delivery, supporting locality teams in the ongoing rehabilitation. Where appropriate, they will carry a clinical and complex caseload across the remote and rural communities and hospitals of Argyll and Bute.  This post will work closely with OTs & Physiotherapist in providing advanced level support and training of local teams. This role will involve travel across Argyll & Bute and into NHS Greater Glasgow Major Trauma units to facilitate strong team working and good communication. 

To succeed in this exciting and challenging role you will have a degree or equivalent qualification as an occupational therapist, be HCPC registered and demonstrate extensive evidence of postgraduate learning to a masters level or equivalent. You will have significant experience and understanding of both core and specialist rehabilitation services as well as service change and development. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent project management and service improvement skills with a proven track record of using quality improvement methodology. You will be aware of regional and national strategy around Major trauma services and have well honed communication and negotiation skills.  

The base location is negotiable and hybrid working will be considered.
