The role 

Provide policy advice, coordinate and undertake a range of projects and associated strategic activities with a focus on mental health, alcohol and other drug (MHAOD) services to enable the successful achievement of the key priorities of Better Care Together: a plan for Queensland's state-funded mental health alcohol and other drug services with a particular emphasis on the Lived Experience (peer) Workforce.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills and capacity to develop reports, discussion papers and submissions
  • High level and demonstrated policy, planning and project management skills and the demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to mental health alcohol and other drugs.
  • Strong understanding or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the mental health treatment service system including the complex interrelationships within the government, non-government and private sectors

Mandatory requirement:

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have lived/living experience of mental illness, service use and recovery.
