The role
We are searching for an exceptional leader to spearhead the development and execution of innovative funding models within Queensland Health. This pivotal role entails coordinating strategic analysis to shape healthcare purchasing strategies and establishing an organizational framework for funding that accommodates diverse needs and incorporates politically sensitive reforms. As a recognized subject matter expert, you will provide authoritative advice to Executive leadership, influencing strategic reforms and crafting optimal funding arrangements.

By fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you will drive the implementation of outcome-based funding models and assess innovative approaches to ensure their alignment with organizational objectives. Furthermore, you will play a key role in advocating for national funding approaches and long-term reforms aimed at optimizing benefits and managing impacts for Queensland. Upholding defined service quality standards and health and safety policies is fundamental to this role's success.

The successful person
For this position, candidates should possess extensive experience in a large, complex, and decentralized service delivery organization, along with a deep understanding of the Australian healthcare system, funding arrangements, and ongoing reforms. Moreover, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in strategic planning, developing healthcare procurement strategies, and translating them into tangible operational results.

Experience in project management methodologies is essential, as is the ability to effectively prioritize and balance long-term strategic goals with short-term demands. While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous. Additionally, candidates must adhere to the condition of employment requiring vaccination against specific diseases as outlined in Health Employment Directive No. 01/16.
