Position The Clinical Director role involves providing strong leadership and support for the management, coordination, and planning of high-quality services. This includes jointly leading clinical governance with the Director of Nursing and other Clinical Directors, ensuring compliance with National Quality and Safety standards, and providing professional leadership to medical staff in the Department of Medicine. The role also involves developing academic medicine capabilities with James Cook University, creating new care models for improved quality and accessibility, and collaborating with stakeholders to engage local primary care providers and non-governmental organizations. The Clinical Director works closely with senior staff to ensure clinical governance and effective service provision.

236 bed regional hospital that services 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities across the region.
Embarking on a period of growth with a $250m redevelopment of the base hospital to provide an additional 112 inpatient beds and an expansion of outpatient and support services.
Significant upgrades underway at outreach rural hospitals, as part of this network.

Requirements
MBBS or Equivalent
AHPRA Registration (Specialist Registration)
In general, this will require fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification and eligibility for accreditation as a RACP – approved supervisor
