The Medical Imaging Service provides a comprehensive Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology service. This position is a key senior clinical team member who is required to perform complex imaging examinations, and independently manage the complexities and demands of the Medical Imaging service, which is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week though an on call/recall service.

The Medical Imaging Service operates a one service/multi-campus model with the Sunshine Coast Univeristy Hospital (SCUH) being the major imaging service.  Medical Imaging is also provided at Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital and Caloundra Hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver independent high-level Sonographer clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Undertake clinical governance activities, such as the development of clinical practices and guidelines that support the continuum of care.
  • Provide clinical advice and education to professional and operational teams, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery, utilising high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Remuneration value up to $152 776 p.a., comprising salary between $124 435 - $133 901 p.a. p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $62.75 - $67.53 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (full time and/or part time position available). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
