The role:  

Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee the delivery of My Health Record projects, by ensuring they are completed successfully within agreed performance criteria to enable enhanced health service delivery. The role will require the successful applicant to project manage the analysis of requirements to design, construct, configure, deploy and support application data integration through the use of HL7 messaging and web services to provide access to patient data and clinical data for critical healthcare applications across the whole of Queensland Health.

Position Overview: We're seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a high performing team environment. You'll play a pivotal role in implementing cutting-edge solutions and solving complex problems. Your expertise in areas like Windows desktop systems, Endpoint Configuration Manager, and ITIL processes will drive our organisation forward.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for:

  • Deliver multiple, parallel development projects (using HL7 messaging and web services) ensuring project outcomes are achieved and enterprise solutions are delivered that are responsive to customer needs.
  • Ensure project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained by leading a multi-disciplinary project and technical team/s.
  • Provide advice and strategic input to project deliverables, to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health strategies and architecture.
  • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with the best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management approach to ensure consistent and quality outcomes are achieved.
  • Guide, lead and mentor team members and ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project life cycle.

Are you right for this role?

To be successful in the role, you will have: 

  • High level leadership and design of large scale, complex/high risk projects (SFIA Code: PRMG 6)
  • High level of project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful project outcomes (SFIA Code: PRMG 6 (NHS: Drive for Results)
  • Ability to use high level interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and communication skills appropriate to all stakeholders to create a strong client focus (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary project and technical teams (NHS: Holding to Account) (NHS: Empowering Others)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders (SFIA Code: RLMT 5)
  • High level knowledge and application of project management methodologies (Prince 2) (SFIA Code: METL 5)

Specific working conditions:

  • Travel: Employees may be required to undertake travel , including consecutive overnight absences (up to two weeks), and work in any other location in Queensland as determined by business needs and may be requested at short notice.
  • Variable hours: Weekend and afterhours work may be required (at various locations in Queensland as determined by business needs) and may be requested at short notice.
  • Qualifications: Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded (Prince2 or Agile Project Management).
